Race Report

Sunday 18th October Heart of England Cyclocross Hosted by Solihull cycle club.

Riders Theo and Cameron kitted up in team orange peddlamaniacs shirts and took on the race at the Heart of England Centre, their first experience of cyclocross racing.

Race day they started off early at 8:45 for their course practice. Time for a recce of the grass terrain course that was covered in early morning dew making it quite wet. The course featured a big bank climb up and back down to a longer draggy climb towards the finish. Practice done and then a quick stop for some Flapjack and cookie refuels baked in prep the day before and the boys were ready and heading to the start line at 9:30am.

A tough 10 min Race followed in a busy field of U8 boys. The boys got stuck in and managed to finish the race here are the some of the thoughts from the boys on how it went:

Theo - Under 8 Boys - Team Peddlamaniacs

" I thought the race was epic, I was nervous at the start but once I got going I was excited. I used up all my energy and my favourite part was going down the hill. I am excited to race again and would like to finish in the top 10"

Cameron - Under 8 Boys - Team Peddlamaniacs

"It was fun to be part of a race but very very tiring and harder than I thought it was going to be"

Well done Theo and Cameron it sounds like you had a tough race but still managed a smile at the end.

We look forward to hearing your next race report.
